Suddenly

Still wearing Kurose's face, the eldest brother of Joey and Aldo rides with Violence Fiend and Kobeni to rejoin the main group. Aki urges the disguised man to step back from the mission, but he lies that he wants vengeance for Tendo and Subaru. As they speak, Power fixates on Kobeni's car, hops into the driver's seat, and falsely claims a license and that Kobeni stole the vehicle from her. Cowed by Power's cheery threats, Kobeni gives up and takes the passenger seat.

When the elder sibling presents himself to Denji and they clasp hands, Power abruptly guns the car ahead, plowing into both men and leaving the brother dead. The others recoil in horror as Kusakabe shouts and the corpse's disguise peels away to show his real face. Tamaoki names him, warning the group of his Skin Devil contract and that his brothers are probably close. Aki rounds on Power, who had been panicking and faulting Kobeni but now insists she knew everything from the start, while Kobeni stays in her car, sweating and weeping in terror.

Part of the International Assassins arc in Volume 7, this chapter also tracks Joey and Aldo, who watch the chaos disguised as civilians. They slip into an alley where Aldo vomits and Joey tries to form a plan, only for an unseen figure to drag Joey off. Aldo re-disguises just as Yoshida rounds the corner, having already cut down Joey; spotting the vomit, Yoshida dismisses Aldo as a bystander and walks away, muttering that a real professional would not throw up.
