Summary

The cursed transformation triggered by Turbo Granny leaves Okarun rampaging without control over his new abilities, and disaster is averted only when Momo's grandmother Seiko, a working medium, intervenes at the last second. To strip the curse away, the pair settle on luring Turbo Granny into a chase. Seiko sets them to training first, but the spirit refuses to wait and confronts Momo before they are ready.

Key Events

A televised psychic named Santa Dodoria fumbles a celebrity reading, then opts to walk home rather than endanger his cab driver. At the tunnel, Seiko halts Turbo Granny mid-attack by hurling a nailed brick and igniting her, having quietly ringed both herself and the spirit with protective barriers drawn by her bat. Penned in, Turbo Granny is battered repeatedly and scorched whenever she nears the line, then finished off when Seiko plants a nail and erases the circle. Momo wakes at home, is briefly fooled into thinking Okarun is dead, and finds him safe inside the shrine where his curse lies dormant. Seiko warns that Turbo Granny has fused with an earthbound spirit in the tunnel, making her too strong to face head-on, yet she still maps out the tag strategy.

Notes

Seiko coaches Momo to govern Okarun's curse through touch rather than sight, since her psychokinesis works by gripping visible auras. During a bathroom incident the spirit possesses Okarun anyway, and Turbo Granny appears through him to threaten indiscriminate killing unless Momo meets her at the tunnel that night. Seiko hands the two spirit-warding outfits and embraces Momo before they leave. The chapter adapts material from Chapter 3, Chapter 4, and the Volume 1 omake, falling within the Turbo Granny Arc.
