Their meal finished, Momo proposes finding an inn to rest. She notes the residents are not hostile, but Unji argues that lowering their guard in enemy territory is too dangerous. Momo counters that recovering their powers is their only real option, since the final stage may be brutal. Unji relents and suggests they take turns on watch. Short on shikigami to afford two rooms, the pair share one, then grow awkward at the sight of its single bed, so Unji takes the first watch from the far side. After washing her clothes and bathing, Momo swaps places with him.

Standing outside, Momo gazes out the window with Okarun on her mind. Elsewhere, Okarun and Rin scramble to escape the officer Vega, who catches them roaming in their school uniforms. Later, Unji returns to change shifts and finds Momo asleep, so he carries her to the bed. As he heads back out, he hears her talk in her sleep, murmuring a plea to be told she is loved.

This nineteen-page Volume 17 chapter released March 12, 2024, set during the Danmara Arc of the Kintama Hunt Saga. A quieter, character-driven entry, it builds the bond between Momo and Unji while keeping Momo's feelings for Okarun in focus and running the parallel chase involving Okarun, Rin, Mai, and Turbo Granny back in the outside world.
