Chapter 27: Have You Ever Seen A Cattle Mutilation?

At the dinner table sit Momo, Seiko, Okarun, Aira, and Turbo Granny, where the Dover Demon explains that he takes dangerous outlaw jobs to fund blood transfusions for his ailing son. Eager to help, Okarun offers up his kintama to be sold. Momo points out that a single sale cannot cover the boy's daily transfusions, yet Okarun insists he truly wants to help anyway. Aira chimes in, promising to retrieve the kintama once it changes hands, and Momo tells her to stay out of it. Touched but unwilling to burden them further, the Dover Demon moves to leave.

Seiko halts him, having grown familiar with the scent of his blood, and has him down a whole cart of milk. He then verifies that, for his race, milk and their blood are one and the same, which sparks Seiko's idea to approach a local dairy farmer about a cow he can bring home to his son. Loading the animal aboard his vessel, the Dover Demon expresses thanks to everyone outside and admits he is in their debt.

Afterward, Momo, Okarun, and Aira plead with Seiko for new uniforms. She agrees to cover Okarun and Aira at no cost but tells Momo she must do a Hiroshi Abe impression, sensing Momo meant to milk adults for money. Momo gives in and is made to answer the door in character, only to be floored when she finds Jiji, her childhood friend and first love, a reveal that shocks Okarun once Seiko explains. The chapter belongs to Volume 4, the Serpo Arc, and the Kintama Hunt Saga, published October 5, 2021, and adapted as Episode 10.
