Han

Han stood as the largest of all the jinchūriki, a full head above Killer B. His defining feature was the red Steam Armour encasing him, fed by a back-mounted furnace that vented steam, its plating wrapping his arms, legs, torso, and even the lower half of his face. Above light brown eyes he had no eyebrows, and beneath the face-plate a white cloth covered his cheeks and the crown of his head. He topped it with a conical straw kasa, wore his Iwagakure protector on a black band, and layered a black gi with torn-off sleeves and black gloves over the armour, a bronze-coloured ring hanging at his neck.

Portrayed as spirited and forthright, Han tended to keep his right hand hidden inside his kimono. On finally meeting Naruto Uzumaki he proved warm and approachable, coming across as calm and reserved, and he put the newfound harmony among the jinchūriki down to seeing how Naruto had come to treat Kurama and Son Gokū.

Han earned worldwide renown for his steam ninjutsu through his exploits in the Third Shinobi World War, and his taijutsu, both his footspeed and his striking force, ranked among the greatest of his era. Close-quarters fighting defined his style: a furnace riding his back banked steam siphoned from Kokuō's Boil Release, a fusion of fire and water chakra superheated to extremes, and by tuning its pressure he could massively boost his strength, once hurling Naruto in Nine-Tails Chakra Mode with force enough to send him smashing into Killer B. As the beast's host he was granted enormous reserves of chakra and stamina, could slip into Tailed Beast Mode to loose Tailed Beast Balls without changing shape, and could take on a Version 2 form or wholly become the Five-Tails, goring the Eight-Tails with its horns.

Han died somewhere between that war and the day Yugito Nii was taken, whether the Akatsuki tore the Five-Tails from him or he was hunted down once his beast wandered free, an episode Iwagakure likely buried out of shame. Kabuto Yakushi eventually collected a sample of his DNA and brought him back with the Impure World Reincarnation to fight in the Fourth Shinobi World War. Tobi remade the reborn jinchūriki into his own Six Paths of Pain, each set with a Rinnegan in one socket and a Sharingan in the other and their tailed beasts sealed back inside them; the twinned eyes let Han strike with far sharper precision and teamwork.

Hunting Naruto and Killer B at Tobi's side, Han fell on them together with Yugito Nii, venting steam to overpower Naruto before calling up the first tail of his beast. A steam-charged kick sent Naruto flying when he went for Rōshi's chakra receiver; Han shrugged off B's sealing by shifting to his Version 2 form and raged as the full Five-Tails until Kakashi and Might Guy drove him back. In a closing vision shared among the tailed beasts, Han named himself and Kokuō to Naruto and admitted the hosts had come together in peace only because of him. Once Kokuō was pulled into the Demonic Statue and the reincarnation lifted, Han's form crumbled and his spirit slipped back to the afterlife.
