A bulky, heavyset fighter, Batman keeps a quiver slung at his back and wears a dark mustache. The Bat SMILE he ate left him with several traits drawn from the creature: pointed ears, curved fangs, and legs able to shift into wings. That last detail carries him aloft while both arms stay free for shooting, in contrast to Hildon. Rounding out the look common to the crew's Gifters, he sports a horned hood paired with a leather jacket in dark tones.

Deep loyalty drives him. He stands firmly behind his crewmates as well as the shogun of Wano, and lashes out at anyone who insults either one. Holding the strict order of the country in place also matters to him, which is why he tried to bar Okobore Town's people from touching untainted food. When he laughs, the sound comes out as a clipped Kikikiki.

Batman handles a bow with real skill, firing forceful shots even in mid-flight. Watching Roronoa Zoro turn his arrows aside caught him off guard, which says much about how highly he rates his own aim. In the anime, sonar lets him steer where each arrow travels. From the Bat SMILE came a large pair of wings at his waist for flying, plus ears tuned to roughly six times the sensitivity of a person's, catching talk from far off. The anime additionally depicts him guarding against a blow from Monkey D. Luffy by coating himself in Armament Haki, though Luffy simply broke through. Sent to track down thieves, he loosed an arrow at Tsuru for badmouthing Shogun Kurozumi Orochi, only for Zoro to block it, then fired on Komachiyo, Kiku, Zoro, and Luffy while they chased Gazelleman, who had grabbed Tama. He later joined Snakeman and Rabbitman in pursuing food thieves into Okobore Town, where Luffy buried the trio beneath a hurled water tank. Anime filler also places him and Gazelleman in Udon's Sumo Inferno, beaten there as the first Gifters to take on Luffy.
