Shizu Shinazugawa is the mother of Sanemi and Genya. A devoted parent who shielded her seven children from an abusive husband, she was turned into a demon by Muzan and, no longer herself, killed most of her family before her eldest son was forced to stop her.
Shizu is a petite woman with a slight, delicate build. Her black hair is gathered into a low bun, with her bangs pinned back at the crown. She has a small face with large, round blue eyes, and she dresses in a striped yellow kimono over a white undergarment with a black sash at the waist. After her transformation she gains fangs and sharpened nails, but otherwise looks much as she did in life, with her hair worn loose.
Shizu married Kyogo Shinazugawa and had seven children, among them Sanemi and Genya. Despite her small size, she constantly placed herself between them and her husband's beatings, and her children regarded her as a hero. After Kyogo was killed in a grudge, the family knew a brief peace.
One night Muzan Kibutsuji turned Shizu into a demon, likely a careless attempt to find one immune to sunlight, and she failed to come home. When she finally returned and her younger children rushed to greet her, she burst inside and killed them almost at once, then scarred Genya and wounded Koto. Sanemi tackled her outside, and his rare Marechi blood slowed her enough that he could subdue her before the rising sun destroyed her.
Shizu is remembered as a tireless worker who toiled from dawn until late and slept little. Trapped in an abusive marriage, she never failed to protect her children, no matter how small she was beside her husband. In the afterlife, unable to bear what she did to the children she killed while not in control of herself, she resigns herself to Hell, though she is moved when Sanemi offers without hesitation to go with her.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle earned $778 million globally and nearly 40 billion yen in Japan, but it still couldn't top Mugen Train's domestic record. Here's why that barely matters....

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....
