Takeo Kamado is the second-oldest son of Tanjuro and Kie Kamado, the eldest of the younger siblings to Tanjiro and Nezuko. A serious, loving boy of ten, he is killed alongside most of his family in Muzan Kibutsuji's attack.
Takeo has short, spiky black hair much like his older brother and father. His pale skin contrasts with dark red eyes that lighten toward the lower part of the irises and darken above, set with white pupils. He looks very similar to Tanjiro, but carries a beauty mark below his right eye like their mother and has no forehead scar.
He wears a cloud-gray iromuji kimono under a sea-green haori, along with tobi trousers and boots, finished with a turquoise and black patterned scarf.
More solemn and stern than his relatives, Takeo shows clear frustration at being told he would only slow Tanjiro down. Even so, he loves his family deeply and is visibly troubled at the thought of his brother leaving for town.
He worries about the selflessness of both Tanjiro and Nezuko, fearing that their habit of putting others ahead of themselves might one day cost them something they cannot afford to lose.

Takeo grows up in the mountains with his mother and siblings. When he once tips over a brazier, Tanjiro shoves him clear of harm and earns the scar on his forehead, an event Nezuko witnesses. On the day Tanjiro leaves to sell charcoal, Takeo sulks at not being allowed to come along.
That night the family is attacked and killed by Muzan, with only Nezuko surviving as a demon. Takeo afterward recurs in Tanjiro's dreams and memories. He appears in the false reunion engineered by Enmu aboard the Mugen Train, and again during the Entertainment District battle, voicing his old fear that Nezuko might lose herself. His death is later revisited as Nezuko recalls the night Muzan came to their home (Chapter 83).
