Summary

Muichiro stokes himself by recalling the seething hatred he felt when he and his brother were left to be devoured by maggots, reminding himself that he became a slayer for a single purpose: to wipe out every demon. Gyokko, congratulating himself on his earnest resolve, unleashes his Blood Demon Art, Killer Fish Scales, certain the scales make his motions impossible to read and that the slayer is finished.

Muichiro answers with Mist Breathing, Seventh Form: Obscuring Clouds, disorienting his foe and seeming to flicker in and out of view. Gyokko searches frantically as the whole area fills with mist. The slayer reappears, remarking that he had not even been trying before, and severs the demon's head. Gyokko cannot grasp why his vision has flipped as his head tumbles to the earth, then rages at being beheaded by a child. It is shown that Muichiro deliberately altered his pace, capable of moving extremely slowly or with blinding quickness, his top speed surpassing the demon's own.

Gyokko launches into a monologue about being one of the chosen and about humanity's inferiority. As he moves to dismiss Muichiro as a maggot, his head is cut into pieces. The chapter ends with the Mist Hashira telling him that it is over and to depart for hell.
