The Explosion

A flashback shows Sanemi raising the issue at a prior meeting that Kagaya goes unguarded, with Gyomei explaining he had asked the same for eight years only to be refused each time. In the present, Sanemi races toward the mansion and watches in horror as a massive blast tears the mountainside apart. Caught at its center, Muzan begins regenerating while cursing Kagaya, who had killed himself, his wife, and their daughters Hinaki and Nichika to maximize the trap, even mixing in steel shrapnel to slow the demon's healing.

Tamayo's Strike

As Muzan focuses on regenerating, flesh seeds appear and burst into giant bramble branches that immobilize him; he assumes he can simply absorb them. Tamayo then appears and drives her hand through his stomach, revealing the seeds belong to the man from Asakusa he once turned. She explains the drug absorbed into him will revert demons to humans. Muzan calls it impossible, then accuses her of bearing unjust hatred and blames her for her own family's deaths.

Tearfully, Tamayo says she only wanted to survive her illness and watch her children grow. When Muzan mocks her for the people she later ate, she does not deny it, declaring she will die alongside him to atone. She then summons Gyomei, who is first to arrive, and one swing of his flail takes off Muzan's head.

Significance

The chapter delivers Kagaya's ultimate sacrifice and launches the endgame against Muzan. Tamayo's reveal ties the earlier Asakusa victim's Blood Demon Art into the trap, and Gyomei's decapitation, though it cannot kill the demon king, marks the opening blow of the final confrontation.
