Summary

Kanao fights through unceasing goosebumps, gripping her sword tightly so it will not shake. Earlier demons feel like infants beside Doma, yet the burning anger inside her lets her face him. She demands to know how he could murder her family and presses the attack.

She vanishes and reappears, unleashing Flower Breathing's Fifth Form, Peonies of Futility, to slash at him rapidly. Doma answers with Barren Hanging Garden, his Blood Demon Art, which she breaks apart using the Second Form, Honorable Shadow Plum. He realizes her eyes are the key to her reading and predicting his moves.

A barrage of ice

Doma decides to gouge out her eyes and cuts toward her face, drawing a small wound near her temple as she bends away. She answers with the Sixth Form, Whirling Peach. He then deploys Freezing Clouds, Lotus Vines, Cold White Princesses, and Wintry Icicles in succession, forcing Kanao onto the defensive.

Kanao disarmed

Despite anticipating his moves, Kanao loses her Nichirin Sword when Doma snatches it faster than she can perceive. He plants it beside himself, taunts her, and releases Scattering Lotuses, leaving her cut across the face as she searches for the safest gap in the hail.
