Ryoko Shiraishi

In Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (studio Ufotable), Shiraishi voices the Spider Demon (Daughter), part of the family of demons encountered on Mount Natagumo. The role suits her vocal versatility, which has long let her move between youthful male and female characters, and it sits within a career built across anime, games, and foreign-language dubbing.

Born on September 7, 1982, in Kashiba, Nara, Shiraishi is affiliated with Aoni Production. Her husky voice lets her portray young to teenage men as well as young girls and teenage women. In a notable departure from that range, one of her best-known roles is Asuka Kazama, a brash, hot-headed character recognized for a strong Osaka accent, a regional speech style that counts among Shiraishi's particular strengths. She was formerly a member of the voice acting unit Drops, alongside Ai Nonaka, Akemi Kanda, Tomoko Kaneda, and Mariko Koda.

Shiraishi is also highly active in dubbing foreign dramas and films into Japanese. She serves as the exclusive Japanese voice for the roles of Miley Cyrus, and many of her dubbing assignments are tied closely to the Disney Channel. She married on September 6, 2012, and divorced in 2013.
