Bao Huang

A fairly small young woman, Bao Huang has short, light blonde hair crowned by two long horns angling upward, with a sizable squirrel's tail emerging from her back. A thin mask covers her face, marked with a single drawn eye and four turret-like bumps along its lower edge. She wears a low-cut red furisode decorated with floral patterns that bares much of her legs, a large bow at the back, and geta sandals. A long-handled uchiwa fan bearing the kanji for wind is her constant accessory.

Bao Huang approaches her schedule-reading duty with real seriousness, appearing the moment she is summoned and injecting variety and flair into her announcements, building up excitement for the bigger planned events. That enthusiasm can backfire through carelessness, as when she accidentally broadcast the defeats of Ulti and Page One across all of Onigashima.

Her rank of Shinuchi grants her authority over lower subordinates, and she is tasked with maintaining and presenting the daily schedules during the Fire Festival. As a Mary, her eye-marked paper mask lets her observe distant locations and relay or broadcast voices through fellow Marys, a clairvoyance-like surveillance power for tracking enemies from afar. She delivered crucial intel to King and others throughout the Alliance raid, including the positions of Shinobu, Momonosuke, and the wounded Scabbards. Her Devil Fruit is the Flying Squirrel SMILE, an artificial Zoan that gave her squirrel traits, chiefly a bushy tail, and the ability to glide on air currents using her kimono. Combat is not her strength, however, and Usopp subdued her with a single Green Star: Devil.
