Gamakichi

His debut is a small orange toad marked with purple around the eyes, mouth, and belly, little enough in Part I to sit atop Naruto's head much as Akamaru rides Kiba, and dressed in a blue jacket. He swells during Pain's attack on Konoha until Naruto can stand on his crown, and by the Fourth Shinobi World War he has grown to within ten centimetres of Gamabunta's height. That later form carries a large tantō, wears a beaded necklace, chews a cigarette, and sports a recoloured hide.

Gamakichi plays the joker, quick with a smart remark and fond of keeping things light rather than grim, even when a fight demands seriousness. His usual greeting is a casual Yo. The bond with Naruto traces back to the boy shielding him from Gaara's miniature Shukaku form. Maturity arrives in Part II: he grasps human-toad combination techniques and natural energy, and he softens toward his little brother Gamatatsu. By the Fourth Shinobi World War he has picked up his father's habits, smoking and swaggering with an ego to match his new bulk, yet he stays dutiful, insisting on one last strike for Naruto as his summoning runs out.

As a hatchling he is summoned by mistake more than once. During the Konoha Crush, Naruto's shaky chakra control produces Gamakichi instead of Gamabunta, and the little toad later talks his father into joining the fight. He surfaces again in the hunt for Tsunade and, in the anime, across missions in the Land of Birds and the Land of the Sea, where his curiosity and warnings occasionally prove useful. Grown larger by Part II, he helps teach Gamatatsu the basics of Water Release and joins the battles against Team Guren and the Three-Tails, pairing his own fire techniques with Naruto's wind for the Toad Oil Flame Bullet. When Pain strikes Konoha, Gamakichi carries Tsunade to safety, and he uses the Reverse Summoning Technique to bring Naruto to Mount Myōboku for sage training. By the war's climax he answers Naruto's summons alongside Aoda and Katsuyu, now almost his father's twin, leaping skyward to shred the Ten-Tails' guards with his tantō. In the final push against Obito he lands a senjutsu-charged Starch Syrup Gun just before his time expires, an attack that reveals Obito cannot nullify senjutsu and helps seal his defeat.
