Gamatatsu

Yellow dominates his coloring, trimmed with orange around the eyes and mouth, and two lines curl inward across his belly. He starts small enough in Part I to ride on Naruto's head, then grows in Part II until Naruto stands atop him and he can swallow a grown adult whole. Like his brother, he wears a blue vest.

Snacks rule Gamatatsu's thoughts, sometimes ahead of anyone's safety; his very first lines wonder aloud whether they must wait for a wounded Naruto to expire before he gets fed. The anime softens that, showing he does care for Naruto. Childlike and naive, he leans on his big brother Gamakichi whenever a situation confuses him, yet his idle curiosity now and then cracks a puzzle open. He calls Gamabunta daddy, which the huge toad lets slide, and he seems almost blind to peril, gawking at his father while Manda loomed nearby until Gamakichi told him to flee.

In the manga he appears only once, summoned by accident during the search for Tsunade when Naruto reaches for Gamabunta and gets him instead. The anime gives him far more room. He surfaces on missions in the Land of Birds and the Land of the Sea, then features heavily in the Three-Tails campaign, where Gamakichi coaches him through the basics of Water Release. After many failed tries he manages a strong water blast, and by combining it with Naruto's wind chakra he unleashes the Wind Release: Toad Gun, powerful enough to shatter Guren's crystal labyrinth and free Hinata. He also spits oil for the Toad Oil Bullet and, alongside his brother, the flame version of it. Later still, Naruto summons him to fetch Shima's cooking so he and Guy can shake off a poisoning, by which point Gamatatsu has grown well past Naruto in size.
