Two former teammates finally drop their illusions and fight in earnest inside Kamui's dimension. Kakashi lands a killing blow, but Madara seizes control of Obito's body, dragging him back to serve as the Ten-Tails' host.
With Sasuke's Amaterasu setting the Ten-Tails ablaze, Sai presses Jūgo about Sasuke's real intentions while the revived Kage ready themselves to rejoin the fight. On the field, Naruto asks Sasuke to douse the flames once the creature weakens so he and Kurama can draw out the tailed beasts, but Sasuke rejects the plan, determined to incinerate everything and build a new order in its place. Sai then questions Sakura and reads her smile about Sasuke's return as a mask over real feeling. The Ten-Tails casually sheds its burning flesh from its core.
Within Kamui's dimension, Kakashi and Obito run each other through, one with a Lightning Cutter and the other with a Fūma Shuriken. Abandoning genjutsu, the pair launch into their true duel, both recalling their childhood sparring days.
Struck by how much the young Obito once resembled Naruto, Kakashi resolves to kill the man Obito has become and drives a lightning-charged kunai through his heart. Refusing to give up the war, Obito teleports away to the Ten-Tails' head. Madara notices his return, dispatches a wood clone from Hashirama, and sends black chakra receivers sprouting from Obito's artificial right side. Realizing Madara is puppeteering Obito to complete his own revival, Hashirama directs Naruto and Sasuke against Obito while he and Tobirama prepare clones to strike Madara as a fallback.
As Obito's hair whitens from strain, Sasuke's attack fails, but Minato's shadow clone flashes in and cuts Obito down. Stunned to discover the masked man's identity, Minato demands answers, only for the Ten-Tails to be absorbed into Obito's body. Naruto reveals that Obito had fought off Madara's grip, and the three watch him become the Ten-Tails' jinchūriki.

Naruto built the transformation jutsu himself, and the Hidden Leaf has been quietly not talking about it ever since. The story behind our 90s R&B record about the Naruko question everybody dodges....
