Rescuing Naruto!

Still drained by Urashiki's earlier assault, Mitsuki stirs in a hospital bed, recalling his wish to shield Boruto, and Sarada fills him in on what unfolded after he fell. Far off, in a barren stretch dominated by a God Tree, Momoshiki siphons Kurama's chakra out of Naruto. Kinshiki notes the tree grew from a man who likewise carried a Tailed Beast, a description Naruto ties to Killer B. Frustrated by the sluggish pace, Momoshiki grumbles that only half the chakra has come loose. Naruto refuses to cooperate, insisting shinobi earn their strength through hardship, and blames himself for driving Boruto toward the Scientific Ninja Tool after seeing how the invaders take power without effort.

The four remaining Kage storm in, severing Naruto's bindings, and throw themselves at Momoshiki and Kinshiki while Sasuke and Boruto reach the freed Hokage. Spotting his son back in his old outfit, Naruto owns up to neglecting him and opens up about his own troublemaking youth, and Boruto asks to hear the rest once they are home. Back in the village, Shikamaru orders a sweep for anyone else abducted and warns his people about Urashiki, likening the standoff to a game of shogi for Shikadai. On the battlefield, a coordinated strike from Chojuro and Kurotsuchi pins Kinshiki, while Gaara's sand gives the others firm ground against Momoshiki.

Warned that Momoshiki can swallow and magnify any technique thrown at him, the fighters hold back their jutsu. After his Byakugan reveals that Naruto cannot transfer power to Boruto, Momoshiki decides to show off his clan's method, turning Kinshiki into an edible sphere of chakra and devouring him. Sasuke's attempt to interrupt fails, and Momoshiki emerges reshaped, a third Rinnegan opening on his brow as he marks Naruto as his next target. The adaptation follows chapter seven and reworks several beats from the Boruto film, notably letting Naruto finally apologise to his son and leaning on the manga's version of Kinshiki's absorption.
