The Mizukage, the Giant Clam, and the Mirage

The Second Mizukage and Third Raikage break free just before Gaara can finish sealing them and turn their fury on the Fourth Division. Nearby, the duel between Onoki and Mu stalls as both wield the same Dust Release technique without either gaining ground, prompting Mu to warn his aging pupil to summon help. As the two reincarnated foes flaunt their abilities, the Mizukage calls forth his Giant Clam while the Raikage peels off with a squad that Temari joins in pursuit. Choosing to hunt Mu rather than finish the Mizukage, Gaara leaves that sealing to his division, much to the offended Mizukage's annoyance.

Naruto reaches the Tsuchikage's battle and unleashes his Planetary Rasengan, and with Gaara's aid he lands a blow that sends Mu flying. Onoki weighs the enemy down with his Added-Weight Rock Technique until Mu cannot move, letting Gaara seal him at last. When Gaara demands to know why Naruto is on the field, Shikaku relays the explanation through a mind-link. Gaara questions whether Naruto can truly manage the Nine-Tails' chakra, and Naruto retorts that he has no plans to die before becoming Hokage, and that Gaara's rank as Kazekage gives him no license to talk down.

The two Kage regroup to face the Second Mizukage, whose Demonic Illusion and Water Balloon Technique keep the shinobi pinned until Gaara pulls them clear, though the oil in the technique steadily saps his sand. His sensory sand pinpoints the genuine Giant Clam, and Onoki, drained of the chakra needed for Dust Release, instead smashes the shell with a weighted stone fist, dispersing the mist. The effort throws out his back, and the Second Mizukage seizes the moment to blast the Tsuchikage with his Water Gun Technique before he can retreat.

Gaara seals Mu after Naruto and Onoki combine their attacks. Naruto argues with Gaara over the risks of using the Nine-Tails' chakra. Onoki breaks the Giant Clam's shell to lift the concealing mist, but strains his back and is caught by the Second Mizukage's Water Gun.

The episode adapts material from several chapters of the manga. A running gag features a shinobi who mocks the Mizukage's facial hair and bears a strong resemblance to Kurotsuchi.
