Summary

While the WISE director in Westalis confidently awaits word that his best agent has succeeded, the Forgers endure a parade of ill omens on their way to the results board, then fail to find Anya's number among the accepted. Henderson intercepts the crestfallen family before they leave and shows them a confidential list of alternates with Anya ranked first; a single withdrawal will open her seat. He credits Loid's table-smashing punch, framed as swatting a mosquito, with actually raising their score, since mosquitoes kill more humans than any other creature and the blow technically protected Murdoch Swan. Yor briefly fantasizes about assassinating another applicant's father to free up a slot before scolding herself out of it, while Henderson admits his own punch at Swan may cost him his career. Three days of anxious waiting later, the phone rings: Anya is in.

Franky arrives with wine already knowing the outcome, and a drunken slip about selling Loid the test answers sails safely past Yor. Offered any reward she wants, Anya asks not for a thing but for an experience: she wants Loid to rescue her from a castle like the hero of Spy Wars. Franky reveals the show's castle is now a rentable theme park, and Loid, worn down, calls WISE for a plane and then for manpower, summoning every agent in Ostania to Newston Castle under the guise of an emergency tied to Operation Strix, complete with a covert Morse code explanation once they arrive.

The roleplay casts Anya as the princess, Loid as the rescuing spy Loidman, and Franky as the villainous Count Scruffy Head commanding dozens of delighted agents. Loid flubs two of three quiz questions about his daughter, learning she loves Bondman for his silenced pistol rather than his face, and is forced into a Bondman costume as a penalty. He battles through ball-pit arenas and tower defenses, ziplines to the princess, and endures the humiliation for the mission's sake, only to face a surprise final guardian: a very drunk Yor as the witch Yorticia, who fights him ferociously until her heel snaps and she passes out. With Franky dispatched, fireworks light the sky as everyone celebrates Anya's admission. Sitting with Loid afterward, Anya tells him how happy her life has been since leaving the orphanage and promises to work hard at school. The next day, WISE opens a staggering invoice for the whole affair.

Key Events

Anya wins her place at Eden Academy as the highest-ranked alternate, clearing the first great hurdle of Operation Strix, and Henderson explains that Loid's outburst at the interview paradoxically improved the family's standing.

Franky's drunken remark confirms he supplied Loid with the entrance exam answers, and Henderson's assault on Swan leaves his teaching future in doubt.

Loid mobilizes WISE's entire Ostanian roster for a castle rescue fantasy, revealing both the agency's devotion to Twilight and the lengths he will go to reward Anya; the episode ends with their quiet promise-filled talk under the fireworks.

Notes

The episode adapts Chapter 6 and expands it heavily. The plane trip, the full Loidman gauntlet against the assembled agents, and the extended duel with the drunken Yor are all new, as are the opening bad-omen montage, Anya's acceptance ritual dance, and her princess tiara. The insert song TBD accompanies Loid's fight through the castle.

Yor's Thorn Princess fantasy is toned down from the manga, where she cuts through a crowded room before reaching Zachry Feiss; the anime confines the scene to an office with only the two of them. Loid's mention of training that lets him drink without getting drunk is dropped, roughly 59 agents answer the castle summons compared to the manga's smaller group, and the closing conversation moves from a balcony to the edge of a fountain.
