Yuki's decision to voice his feelings has left its mark, and Tohru moves through the aftermath visibly distracted. The rest of the group picks up on her mood. Because so many of them are obligated to accompany Akito, Kyo ends up being the one who remains at her side.
Tohru's distraction stems directly from the confession Yuki made earlier. As the others are drawn away to Akito, Kyo takes on the role of keeping her company through the day.
