Kakunoshin

An adult of middling stature, Kakunoshin keeps his light brown hair short and wears heavy brows along with long sideburns. His outfit pairs a blue yukata, its collar bearing a pale blue diamond motif, with a yellow sash and a dark blue overcoat layered on top.

A reversed crescent inked at his ankle is implied in the manga, a symbol of his bond to the Kouzuki Family. The anime removes the ambiguity by depicting the tattoo plainly.

Loyalty to the Kouzuki Family sits at the core of who Kakunoshin is, and he signed on to their resistance the moment the chance arose. He carries a personal grudge against Kurozumi Orochi and yearned to take his own revenge on the shogun. He also has a charismatic streak, stepping up to direct the others on several occasions over the course of the raid.

As he made his way through the Flower Capital, Kakunoshin crossed paths with one of the disguised allies, perhaps Penguin, Bepo, Shachi, or Usopp himself, who quietly slipped him a paper signaling the coming Kouzuki revolt. He was caught up in the mass arrests and thrown into the Rasetsu Town Prison House for scheming against Orochi, brought in among the very last of the samurai, his face bloodied as guards slammed him to the cell floor. Inside, the prisoners were passed Yasuie's parting message about the rebels' new meeting spot, and they stayed locked away there nearly until the raid itself.

When the Fire Festival arrived, Denjiro freed the captives, adding a thousand soldiers to the cause, and the group sailed for Tokage Port to recover the Scabbards. On reaching Onigashima, Kakunoshin donned a disguise, joined one of the parties slipping onto the Live Floor, and mingled with the Beasts Pirates in feigned celebration until Luffy declared all-out war, whereupon he shed the costume and roared in approval beside Hyougoro.

He went on to fall in with a band of samurai aiming to stand against the forces of Kaidou and Orochi. As two Numbers approached, Kojuro promised the swordsmen would cut a way through, while Kakunoshin advised the pirates to husband their strength, though the warriors failed to stop Goki and were rescued by the Straw Hats. Once Luffy's supposed death rang out across the island, he was leading a handful of fighters who debated whether to press on. As the Skull Dome burned, he stood drained on the now-still Live Floor, and when Hyougoro posed the question of dying with Luffy triumphant or surviving under Kaidou, Kakunoshin laughed and said he would die content if it meant peace for his family. With the raid won, he celebrated at the festival and cheered Luffy's toast.
