Torres

Torres reads as a weathered, moderately built man somewhere past middle age. Unkempt white hair sits above heavy brows, a scruffy beard swallows his mouth, and his sunken black eyes give away almost nothing. A brown trench coat conceals the rigging for his silver sand weapons, worn over a blue polo, with black trousers and shoes to match.

Idleness and an out-of-control gambling habit define Torres, who managed to rack up a staggering sixty-billion-yen debt to the JAA. His ego runs just as large; he hit up Shishiba for twenty million yen at their very first meeting and pushed for his own bounty to climb by killing off Sakamoto's helpers. He shows scant respect for the association's rules, at one point proposing they abduct Sakamoto's wife Aoi to flush him out under Oki's new regime, which is roughly how he came to accept a place in the Order in the first place, seeing no way out of what he owed.

For all his sloth, Torres ranks among the JAA's strongest and spent over fifty years established in the criminal underworld before the Order came calling. His strength is immense: he shattered Shishiba's hammer with a mere touch to its back, cut a cable car in two with his weapons, and tore through half a building floor barehanded.

He is punishingly durable and stubborn, weathering blows from far quicker opponents and holding out through a marathon bout in which he bested Sakamoto around five times over, though repeated hits to the head eventually wore him down until Sakamoto laid him out with a single punch. Unable to afford a firearm thanks to his debts, he fights with a pair of pressurized sandblasters tucked inside his coat sleeves, able to chew through the toughest metals and grind objects into powder.
