SSS Gathering Arc

The SSS Gathering Arc spans chapters 133 to 136, positioned after the Five-Year Love Plan Arc and ahead of the ongoing chapters. With the television studio hijacking behind them, the Forgers slip back into routine until Yuri engineers the most dangerous social event of Loid's career: an evaluation by Ostania's Secret Police, conducted over drinks.

The hijacking's ripples open the arc. Ostania announces a replacement Minister of Broadcasting, Yor's coworkers buzz over her surprise television appearance, and the Shopkeeper's approval of her conduct inadvertently convinces Hemlock to accept a date with Millie. At Eden, Anya's boasting inspires Becky to get scouted as an actress; an afternoon of costumed street performances attracts only the police, so Becky simply asks her father to host a party stocked with entertainment industry guests instead.

Meanwhile, Yuri persuades Lieutenant Chadwick Curtis, Chloe, and other officers to help him judge whether Loid deserves Yor, then hauls his unsuspecting brother-in-law to their weekend gathering. Surrounded by drunk Secret Police treating the interrogation as entertainment, Loid fields questions about his career, income, and marriage, and wins most of the room over by plainly stating that he loves his wife. His relief dies when he hears Yor is coming: he once impersonated Curtis while investigating her, and a stray remark could unravel everything. The doorbell instead delivers SSS director Wyman Wilker, disguised as a pizza deliveryman, whom the terrified officers dare not eject. Yor arrives, greets the real Curtis, and to Loid's exasperation never mentions the earlier encounter at all. Her coworkers' advice about affection kicks in instead; she takes Loid's hand, he leans into the act to torment Yuri, and Yuri vomits blood on cue while the veterans ignore it as routine.

When Yor starts drinking to steady her nerves, both men panic. Loid remembers the wristwatch Franky built for him hides two point-blank tranquilizer needles and decides unconsciousness is the safest exit for his wife. The drunken Yor accidentally dodges the first shot, flattens Yuri while announcing she wants to cuddle her husband, and shrugs off the second needle entirely. Salvation arrives sideways: while faking illness, Loid catches Lieutenant Nicholson trying to torch the venue to end the party, and a work summons Chloe had quietly arranged pulls Wilker away, dissolving the gathering. On the walk home, Yuri concedes to Chloe that he does not hate Loid, who has kept his promise to protect Yor. Loid, having failed to anticipate a single complication all night, vows to be more careful and collapses the moment he reaches the apartment, where Anya, Becky, and Martha find him unconscious.

Loid now knows Yuri's circle personally, including Curtis and Chloe, and the director's full name, Wyman Wilker, enters the record for the first time. Yor emerges bolder about acting the part of a wife, while Yuri finally voices a grudging acceptance of his brother-in-law. For Loid, the night sharpens an uncomfortable question he keeps deferring: whether Yor's growing place in his life strengthens Operation Strix or endangers it.
