With the Friendship Scheme dead after Anya's falling-out with Damian Desmond, Loid has staked Operation Strix on Plan A, making her an Imperial Scholar, and he pushes fractions on the struggling girl under threat of a missed spy cartoon. Anya's telepathic shortcut fails on both parents: Loid's mind races too fast to follow, while Yor's is serenely empty on the subject of math. Overloaded, Anya bolts to her room screaming that she hates studying.
