Chapter 7

A uniform fitting for Eden Academy brings the Forgers back to the tailor, where the shop's owner shares uncomfortable truths: alumni families look down on newcomers, dorm students clash with commuters, and children who commute get kidnapped often enough that the warning leaves Anya visibly shaken. Dinner afterward doubles as spycraft, with a chef slipping Loid a cipher and a sauce-coded message summoning him to Safe House D in five days.

On briefing day, Loid asks Yor to collect the finished uniforms while he steps into a photo booth that conceals an elevator down to a WISE facility. His handler opens by scolding him over the castle rental on his expense reports, a complaint he counters with a fresh stack of school-supply receipts. She then lays out the next phase of Operation Strix: Donovan Desmond's social circle only opens to families of Imperial Scholars, the honor students who earn eight Stella Stars, so Anya must be groomed into one while avoiding the eight Tonitrus Bolts that force expulsion. Privately, Loid doubts the girl is up to it.

Anya, meanwhile, delights in modeling her new uniform for Yor and insists on wearing it to the park, where praise from other mothers stirs Yor's memories of the admissions interview and her wish to be a real parent despite the arranged household. A group of delinquents marks the uniformed child as a payday. When they grab Anya outside the supermarket, Yor answers with a grocery bag to the face, then splits a pumpkin apart with her bare hand and promises the men the same treatment. They flee in terror.

Anya, far from frightened, adores her strong mother and begs for training so she can stay safe at Eden. Yor accepts that normal may be out of reach but embraces what she can offer. Loid comes home to find the two throwing punches in the living room and feels no better about his assignment.

The Handler briefs Twilight on Phase Two of Operation Strix: making Anya an Imperial Scholar by earning eight Stella Stars, with eight Tonitrus Bolts meaning expulsion.

The tailor shop owner warns the family about discrimination from Eden alumni and the kidnapping risk faced by commuter students.

Delinquents abduct Anya over her uniform; Yor defeats them singlehandedly and asserts herself as Anya's mother.

Anya asks Yor to train her, and the two begin practicing together at home.

Mission 7 appears in Volume 2, spans 25 pages, released on June 17, 2019, belongs to the Eden Beginnings Arc, and is adapted in Episode 6 of the anime. Anya features on the cover.

The chapter debuts Sylvia Sherwood, though she goes unnamed here and is identified only by her role as Handler. In the first digital release, Sylvia gave Eden's student age range as 6 to 18 on page 10; the Volume 2 printing revises the upper figure to 19.
