Summary
A look back reveals a past battle against the Owl that maimed and killed a great number of investigators. In its aftermath, Kishou Arima carved a path toward the creature using the quinque of fallen colleagues and dealt it a mortal wound, handing the Commission of Counter Ghoul its victory.
In the present, Yukinori Shinohara and Iwao Kuroiwa come upon the Owl in the corridors of building three. With the enemy in sight, they relay the situation to Itsuki Marude, who orders them to commit as few personnel as possible to avoid needless deaths. Once investigators including Koutarou Amon are sent away, Shinohara and the others steel themselves for the fight.
