The Cure is Coniglio's rabbit-shaped Stand from the novel Golden Heart, Golden Ring, a jeweled healer that draws wounds, sickness, and grief out of the living. The catch is that all that absorbed pain builds up inside it, and past a certain limit the gentle creature swells into a rampaging monster.
Roughly thirty centimeters long, the Stand looks much like a white rabbit, its fur mostly white with streaks of gold. The eyes differ from one another, the right glowing red while the smaller left one shines gold. A blue jewel sits at the center of its brow, and further gems stud its ears and body, lending it an ornate, bejeweled air. Fittingly, Coniglio is Italian for rabbit.
The Stand's gift is healing: it can pull the injuries, illnesses, and emotional pain out of any living thing and take that burden into itself. The soaked-up suffering gathers within it and makes it grow, though under normal conditions that excess bleeds away over time. Should the accumulated pain climb past what it can hold, it balloons to enormous size and slips into a frenzy. In this runaway state it takes on a brutish, subhuman shape, and rather than weakening under attack it only grows stronger the more damage it takes. It also has a quirk of scratching itself and then healing the very wound it made.
Coniglio is the Stand's user. Under Sogliola's scheme, The Cure took in a huge dose of Purple Haze's virus all at once, lost control, and rampaged through the city while spewing the stored contagion. Assaults from Sticky Fingers and Gold Experience only fed its strength, and it settled down only when Coniglio called out to it. After Sogliola was beaten, she made a home in an Illinois village and turned the Stand toward healing those who needed it.
Yes, The Cure is a real Stand in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, belonging to Coniglio in the novel Golden Heart, Golden Ring. It takes the form of a small, jeweled white rabbit that heals wounds, sickness, and grief.
The Cure heals by pulling injuries, illnesses, and emotional pain out of any living thing and absorbing that suffering into itself. The pain it soaks up normally bleeds away over time, but if too much builds up at once it can overwhelm the Stand.
If the pain The Cure absorbs exceeds what it can hold, the Stand balloons to an enormous size and slips into a mindless frenzy. In this runaway state it takes on a brutish, subhuman shape and grows stronger the more it is attacked rather than weaker.
Under Sogliola's scheme, The Cure absorbed a massive dose of Purple Haze's virus all at once and lost control, rampaging through the city while spreading the stored contagion. It only calmed down when its user, Coniglio, called out to it.
After Sogliola was defeated, Coniglio settled in an Illinois village and turned The Cure toward healing people who needed it. The rabbit shaped Stand's name reflects Coniglio, which is Italian for rabbit.
