Lang Rangler

Lang's face stays a mystery, buried under a patchwork of makeshift gear meant to shield him from his own Stand, chiefly a flat-topped hat with a jagged lower edge pulled down past his eyes and a pair of goggles, so neither his hair nor his eyes can be seen. He is of roughly average to tall height and medium build, with red sneakers laced up his legs, one of them holding a bottle.

His Stand, Jumpin' Jack Flash, robs its targets of weight and hurls scrap through the centrifuges at its wrists, while his own body comes with suction-cup fingertips and feet that let him cling to surfaces.

Cold and calculating, Lang carries enough arrogance to imagine himself a match for Whitesnake. There is also a clear streak of the psychopath in him; on the verge of finishing off Jolyne and Weather Report, he compares the thrill to the rush he felt while killing his professor.

Lang was jailed at Green Dolphin Street Prison for the murder of a female professor, whom he stabbed sixty-nine times, apparently on top of a charge for hijacking an oil tanker, and whether his Stand came from a Whitesnake DISC or arose on its own is never settled. During Operation Savage Garden, Weather Report catches sight of him in a reflection as he shadows Jolyne, and Lang scrambles after her on all fours as he tries to spit on her to trigger his power.

The group slips away using Burning Down the House, but Jolyne is soon caught in his zero-gravity field, letting her father's Stand DISC drift out of her coat for Lang to grab. Weather Report intercepts him, and a drawn-out factory brawl unfolds, with Lang firing scrap metal and manipulating weightlessness while Jolyne deflects the barrage with Stone Free.

Just as he thinks he has won, he finds Stone Free's string tied into his centrifuges, and Jolyne hauls him into the vacuum his own Stand created. He improvises pure oxygen to break her protective suit, but Weather surrenders his own to her, and the moment Lang drops the gravity field the inrush of air carries Jolyne straight into a finishing flurry that dumps him into a laundry basket. Jolyne then takes his pass and hat to get the courtyard door open.
