Emperor and Hanged Man, Part 2

Kakyoin clings to the hope that Avdol's wound is not fatal, but the fallen man gives no response. A reluctant Polnareff lets Kakyoin haul him into a nearby jeep, and the two speed out of Emperor's reach as J. Geil sets off after them. On the road they debate how to beat Hanged Man and whether a world inside mirrors truly exists. Kakyoin catches the Stand lurking in the steering wheel and slams the brakes, flipping the vehicle.

Now aware that Hanged Man leaps from one reflective surface to the next, the pair try to keep away from anything shiny. When a passing boy unknowingly carries the Stand in his eye, Polnareff kicks sand at him to force it into the only view left, his own eye, then cleanly severs its path before it can slip in. A scream lures them to a decoy with an ordinary right hand, and the real J. Geil wounds Polnareff with a thrown knife.

J. Geil gathers a crowd by claiming the two men want to hand out money, filling the street with so many eyes that Hanged Man's route becomes impossible to predict. Kakyoin counters by flinging a gleaming coin into the air, drawing every gaze upward and leaving a single reflection for the Stand. Polnareff kicks sand into the eye it occupies, driving it toward the coin, and slashes its trajectory. With J. Geil helpless, Polnareff riddles his body using Silver Chariot, and the corpse ends up dangling upside down on a fence.

Hol Horse finally catches up, certain the pair ignore him out of fear, and starts shattering glass with Emperor to feed Hanged Man's attacks. Polnareff tells him J. Geil is already dead. As Hol Horse tries to flee, Jotaro and Joseph, fresh from burying Avdol, surround him. Polnareff moves for the kill but Nena throws herself in the way, letting Hol Horse escape. Joseph urges Polnareff to let the beaten enemy go. Unnoticed, a drop of Nena's blood lands on Joseph's arm, sprouting a tiny talking wart that snatches a fly, while Nena reveals a matching wart on her tongue.

While justifying his preference for staying number two, Hol Horse recalls moments absent from the manga, including his first meetings with DIO and Enya. Commentary framed this as the closing chapter of the Hanged Man conflict, praising Kakyoin's cunning and steady nerve and noting how the initial friction between him and Polnareff gives way to an effective partnership once the fight begins.

Staff also singled out the comic turn Hol Horse takes across the episode, swinging from belligerent bravado to desperate flight, and credited the voice work that lent Nena a fittingly charming tone.
