Yukako Yamagishi Falls in Love, Part 1

Josuke Higashikata and Okuyasu Nijimura mull over what Toshikazu Hazamada gave up during his hospital interrogation, chiefly his belief that Stand users are fated to cross paths, so Red Hot Chili Pepper's wielder will surface on his own. Their talk stops when they spot Koichi Hirose seated in a café with Okuyasu's classmate Yukako Yamagishi, who openly declares her feelings for him. Koichi's delight collapses the instant he fumbles the question of how deeply he returns the sentiment, and Yukako storms off after a flash of fury. Moments later he finds his cola stuffed with strands of hair.

The following day Yukako smothers Koichi with attention, prompting him to flee behind the excuse of class duties. Jealous, she plants her hair on the class representative, which gags and blindfolds the girl while setting her own hair ablaze; Okuyasu's The Hand wipes out the flames and part of the victim's hair. Realizing Yukako means harm, the boys meet Koichi to plan. Since none dare provoke her directly, they try loudly badmouthing Koichi within her earshot to sour her interest. That night she abducts him instead, sealing him inside a villa cut off from any contact. Aware now that she is a Stand user, Koichi feigns cooperation, enduring a forced English quiz where wrong answers earn mouthfuls of soap or dictionary pages. When he bolts, her hair hoists him to the ceiling, and she leaves promising the seclusion will last until summer.

Hazamada shares his theory that Stand users inevitably encounter one another. Yukako confesses to Koichi in the café and reacts violently to his indecision. Her Stand, Love Deluxe, is introduced as she weaponizes her hair against the class representative, prompting Okuyasu to counter with The Hand. The trio's scheme to discredit Koichi backfires when Yukako simply kidnaps him. Trapped in the villa and controlled by hair implanted in his scalp, Koichi is left crying out for rescue.

This installment marks the first time the series plays a remixed opening, using the EDM arrangement of Crazy Noisy Bizarre Town. Curiously, neither this episode nor the next includes a Stand card for Love Deluxe. The adaptation folds in small touches, among them a glimpse of Prince performing during the quiz, an issue of Pink Dark Boy in Koichi's room, and an early tease of Super Fly in the montage about Stand users meeting.

In commentary, director Naokatsu Tsuda praised Mamiko Noto's yandere performance as Yukako and noted the technical challenge of animating a hair-based Stand, since its aura had to extend into her hair and separate cels were needed to tell her strands apart from Koichi's. He remarked that Morioh was proving to be a genuinely frightening town.
