Jūrōta Kosugi

Kosugi originated the role of Jotaro Kujo, the stoic Stardust Crusaders protagonist, in the 1993 original video animation adaptation of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, years before the character was recast for the David Production television series. His gravelly, hard-edged delivery set an early template for Jotaro, though the OVA covered only part of the Stardust Crusaders arc.

Jurota Kosugi is a Japanese voice actor born in 1957 who has worked in the anime industry since the mid-1980s. His catalog spans long-running shonen series as well as game and dubbing work.

Kosugi is best known for playing Arlong, the shark-toothed pirate captain, in One Piece and the ninja mentor Asuma Sarutobi in Naruto. Both are long-running roles across two of anime's biggest shonen franchises.

Beyond One Piece and Naruto, Kosugi voices Akio Ohtori in the psychological series Revolutionary Girl Utena. In video games, he provides the Japanese voice of Nobunaga Oda across the Samurai Warriors series.

Kosugi has served as the regular Japanese dub voice for actors including Billy Blanks and David Duchovny. This dubbing work runs alongside his long list of anime and game credits built up since the mid-1980s.
