Chizuru Hari

A tall man in his middle years, Chizuru carried a toned build with clearly defined abs. Two black holders and a piercing bound his short, slicked bluish-grey hair into a ponytail, and below his short brows sat small, narrow black eyes.

For an outfit he favored lime-green trousers tucked inside black footwear, a pale sash dangling at his waist. The dark claws that jutted from his hands came not from any garment but from his ability.

Across his short stretch in the Culling Game, Chizuru gave away little about who he was. He followed Reggie with aggression and set out to kill any sorcerer who got in the way, all the while extending some respect toward those he faced in battle.

Once Megumi outmatched him and Nue smashed him several stories down into the earth, he pulled himself upright and admitted his foe had handled himself well. Hungry for revenge, he moved to put Megumi away after Iori Hazenoki's explosions left the boy hurt, yet he wildly underrated him and was struck down before his technique could be brought out.

Well before Megumi and Yuji ever set foot in Tokyo No. 1 colony, Chizuru had already attached himself to the band of Culling Game participants that Reggie Star led. He went after Megumi once the negotiations with Reggie fell apart, only for Nue to fling him off a building and drive him into the ground far below. He clawed his way back and met Megumi a second time inside an apartment right as a new rule was introduced to the game, then was knocked clear of the building yet again when Megumi called out Max Elephant. Megumi rode him through the fall, cracking his face with a sword hilt, and finished him with a slash to the face moments after he struck the ground.

His fighting ability was scarcely put on display. A 28-point tally inside the deadly tournament, plus a place among Reggie's allies, marked him as capable, yet Megumi bested him without difficulty on both occasions and ended his life in the rematch before the cursed technique ever surfaced. The technique reshaped his fingers into dark claws, but whether their danger was strictly physical or carried some effect on contact stayed unknown, since his swing at Megumi with the claws on his left hand never landed.
