Fumi

Fumi is a young woman who keeps her long dark-brown hair gathered into a high ponytail. During her childhood years that hair was cut shorter and worn instead in two loose ponytails. As a girl she dressed in a turtleneck and dress topped with a light short-sleeved shirt, and on the day Nobara boarded the train for Tokyo she appeared in her school uniform.

Where Nobara is bold and combative, Fumi comes across as the gentle, reserved counterpart. She has a deeply caring streak, shown in moments like cheering Nobara on through a losing round of Smash Bros and happily agreeing to swap backpacks with her.

Fumi and her family relocated to a small rural village. At their elementary school, Nobara talked her into trading backpacks, which she readily did, but when Fumi ended up with her own bag returned to her, an annoyed Nobara kicked it. Fumi then ran to Nobara after she had thrashed some boys over a jump rope. From that day on, Nobara became a regular at Fumi's house, playing Smash Bros against her father while Fumi rooted for her.

Nobara later told Fumi she had found a secret hideout and intended to live there, but on arriving Fumi recognized it as Saori's home. She grew close to Saori as well, visiting alongside Nobara to play. When Saori moved away, Nobara broke down in tears and Fumi cried along with her. Later, as Nobara prepared to leave for Tokyo from the train platform, she urged Fumi to find her own way out too, and asked that the next time the three of them met they would all be together again. Through her own tears, Fumi nodded and promised she would.
