Nobara Kugisaki

Fair-skinned and slender, Nobara wears her light brown hair in an asymmetrical bob that falls to her neck, with bangs sweeping across the right side of her forehead. Orange eyes, long lashes, and thin matching eyebrows complete the look, though her hair is dyed and naturally dark brown. After a near-fatal blow from Mahito, she takes to wearing an eyepatch over her left eye. Her school uniform is a dark blue gakuran jacket and a knee-length skirt, worn with black pantyhose, brown shoes, and the signature brown belt that carries her jujutsu tools. A keen dresser, she also owns several casual outfits, including a flower-patterned white and blue hoodie with black tights bought soon after enrolling.

Confident and blunt, Nobara holds an unbreakable sense of self and refuses to let anyone reshape her core. She takes pride in being both photogenic and a capable fighter. Her first impression is grating, since she introduces herself to Yuji and Megumi by belittling them, yet beneath the abrasiveness lies a deeply caring and dutiful person she rarely lets others glimpse. She and Yuji become the class clowns who needle Megumi for laughs, and despite her teasing she was shaken by Yuji's death and wept at his return. Outspoken since childhood in her small hometown, she felt apart from everyone except her grandmother and the outsiders Fumi and Saori, and she fled the countryside for Tokyo while vowing to reunite with both friends. She admires Maki for standing against her family's oppression, draws a firm line between Maki's character and Mai's, and refuses to excuse cruelty on account of a hard upbringing.

Officially a grade 3 sorcerer owing to her youth and inexperience, Nobara repeatedly punches well above that rank. Her innate Straw Doll Technique channels cursed energy through a hammer, nails, and a straw doll, letting her share damage between an effigy and her target. With Resonance she links to a severed body part to strike a foe's vital points, driving black spikes from their chest, while Hairpin detonates her cursed-energy nails in an explosive burst. Trained in physical conditioning by Maki and Panda, she grew into a strong close-range fighter, outmaneuvering the airborne Momo Nishimiya and battling the Death Painting brothers Eso and Kechizu on even footing. Against them she stabbed herself with nails to turn their poison link to her advantage and unleashed her first Black Flash, a strike that multiplies an impact roughly 2.5 times by syncing cursed energy within 0.000001 seconds. During the Shibuya Incident she wounded Mahito's soul, earning recognition as one of his natural enemies, and after her miraculous recovery she struck Sukuna's final finger with Resonance to bind the King of Curses for Yuji's finishing blow.
