Hana Kurusu

Roughly matching Yuji and Megumi in both age and stature, Hana presents as a teenage girl. Her bob cut is blonde, falling to the chin with straight-cut bangs and tips that curl sharply inward, framing a pair of green eyes. The Angel's presence reshapes her into something heavenly: bluish-white feathered wings sprout from her upper back, a yellow halo hovers above her, and, much like Sukuna within Yuji, the spirit can open a speaking mouth somewhere on her body, such as a cheek or palm.

For most of the Culling Game she favored a baggy tan sweater whose thick collared top portion draped over her chest, with vertical ribbing along the cuffs and hem; it hung past her waist and stopped above the knees, paired with black leggings tucked into heeled, pale ankle boots. Sukuna later tore her right arm away and shrank her wings during a failed exorcism attempt. Ahead of the Shinjuku Showdown she briefly switched to a button-front midi dress with long sleeves, a dark bow at the waist, a turtleneck layer, and a pleated skirt, before returning once more to her familiar sweater.

Friendly, composed, and courteous, Hana carries herself with quiet bravery and a desire to do good for strangers. That drive traces back to childhood, when Megumi freed her from a cursed spirit that had kept her captive for a year. The rescue left a permanent mark: she fell for him and resolved to repay the world the way he had saved her, convinced that fate governs everything and that helping others might one day make her worthy of standing beside her so-called Destined One. Bashful about her feelings, she begged the Angel not to expose them too soon.

The exact origin of her bond with the Angel stays murky, yet she has never resented the arrangement, which is why the ancient sorcerer lets her keep command of her own body. The two are intimate enough that the Angel knows her history and teases her about Megumi, though it backs off when she asks for privacy, and Hana returns the loyalty by bristling at Yuji when he speaks rudely to her companion. She prizes good cheer over conflict and got along easily with Yuji and Fumihiko Takaba, even joking about Megumi the way Nobara once did. When Sukuna seized Megumi, however, love overrode reason: she charged in to save him, and the King of Curses exploited her devotion by faking Megumi's return and luring her into a trap that cost her dearly. Even afterward, injured and seemingly robbed of Megumi, she stayed worried for his fate and loyal to the sorcerers' cause, freeing Gojo and flustering when she feared she had hurt him in the process.

Every scrap of Hana's jujutsu belongs to the Angel, yet she handles the spirit's innate technique with the polish of a seasoned sorcerer despite her youth. Flight grants her strong mid-range positioning, and she wields the signature Jacob's Ladder at full cursed energy output on an enormous scale. Through most of the Culling Game she leaned on her gifts outside combat: the wings let her ferry people to safety, and the Angel's power to nullify any cursed technique let her drift through barriers and cross Colony borders, a freedom no rival player shared, all while she still banked fifteen points.

Her ceiling showed when she confronted Sukuna directly. Because incarnated sorcerers behave like cursed objects, the Angel's technique made Hana lethal to the King of Curses, and she nearly purged him before he had cemented his grip on Megumi's body; he survived only by tricking her into dropping the technique mid-cast. Her most pivotal act was firing Jacob's Ladder into the Prison Realm's rear gate to release Satoru Gojo. After Sukuna maimed her, her power waned noticeably, and a twenty-finger Sukuna later weathered the same attack that had once almost finished his fifteen-finger self. The innate technique, Technique Extinguishment, erases any cursed technique, barrier, or cursed object outright, the Prison Realm included; while it can rarely revert an incarnation, the host usually dies instead. Its extension, Maximum Output: Jacob's Ladder, conjures a four-winged trumpet of light and a vast sky-borne ring, and sounding it sends a colossal pillar of light crashing down to extinguish whatever lies beneath.
