Juzo Kumiya

Towering and heavily muscled, Juzo keeps his head shaved bald. The most striking feature is the dark band of pigment ringing his eyes and crossing the bridge of his nose, a mask that evokes the classic cartoon burglar and, by extension, the raccoon it imitates.

For clothing he favors a deep-blue apron worn straight over a bare chest, finished with black trousers and dark boots capped in metal at the toes.

Juzo is openly deranged and proud of it. Wild, defiant of any chain of command, his single fixation is slaughtering people so he can fashion their remains into what he calls "hanger racks." Cursed spirits hold zero appeal for him precisely because exorcism leaves no body behind to work with. He prizes victims who are either young women or notably powerful, since either yields something worth crafting, and he dismisses elderly targets as a waste of effort. His recklessness runs so deep that he eyed Satoru Gojo himself as raw material the instant he laid eyes on him.

As a curse user specializing in the creation of cursed tools, Juzo pairs craftsmanship with a violent, careless streak that makes him genuinely dangerous. Kyoto's principal Yoshinobu Gakuganji judged him a serious threat even while noting he fell short of the special grade cursed spirits, yet Kenjaku regarded him as expendable, chiefly because his temperament and refusal to obey orders made him unreliable.

Beyond his sorcery he is a skilled weapons handler. He swings a large axe well enough to deflect Gakuganji's waves of cursed energy, and the same axe doubles as a tool for staking his curtains into the ground. An accomplished artisan with his own workshop, he forged a special hand-sword for his ally Haruta Shigemo, designing it to grip Haruta's hand because he considered him incapable of being trusted with anything. His finest work, the Dragon-Bone, ranked as the crown jewel of his collection and later passed into Maki Zenin's hands. His own cursed technique falls under barrier work: by channeling energy into a pre-built commissioned curtain, he can fully activate a barrier with conditions set in advance, such as the one that locked Gojo out of the Goodwill Event for thirty minutes while still letting every other sorcerer through.
