Appearance

Slim and fair-skinned, Yuka wears black hair that tumbles below her neck, split at the front by a thin bang on each side. Her large blue eyes match her grandfather's in both contour and scale. Her Kyoto Jujutsu High uniform borrows from his as well, yet hers is sleeveless and shaped into a dress-like cut drawn tight at the waist with a belt. A black bodysuit sits underneath, stretching from her mid-neck down to her legs, trimmed by white lines at the biceps and shins and fitted with thumb holes at the sleeves. Rounding off the look, a watch-style wrist terminal that can throw up a digital screen accompanies her gold hoop earrings.

Personality

Calm and kind most of the time, Yuka turns hot-headed around her brother Tsurugi thanks to a long-running rivalry. Its root is a family ruling: although Yuta first picked Yuka to receive his ring, the Gojo clan handed it instead to Tsurugi, a decision that stung all the more given how close she had grown to the grandfather who raised her. Bickering with Tsurugi tends to outrank even meeting strangers, as Maru witnessed, though her usual courtesy let Maru see past the front and coax out the admission that she did worry for her brother. Once she rescued him, she honored her boast and dueled him, losing in tears, and that catharsis finally let the pair fight side by side.

A malignant brain tumor leaves Yuka only months to live, yet she declines to let the diagnosis dim her remaining time, pressing on toward her lifelong ambition and hiding her condition from Tsurugi so as not to be pitied. She told Cross plainly that her last months will not be spent stewing in bitterness or self-pity; the unfairness angers her, but resenting people who have it easier strikes her as pointless.

Abilities

A talented young sorcerer, Yuka rates as roughly Tsurugi's match in strength according to their superior Usami. Her fighting style weds martial arts to jujutsu, and a thorough grounding in close-quarters combat backs it up. Physical power runs above average too, presumably thanks to cursed energy reinforcing her body, enough that a lone strike once launched a metal door clear across a room.

From the Zenin clan she inherited the coveted Ten Shadows Technique, capable of calling up to ten potential shikigami by way of shadows while granting broad shadow control for concealment or storage. Cleared to draw out only certain shikigami abilities rather than summon the beasts wholesale, she shaped Savage Jaw Strike, channeling cursed energy into her hands so her nails stretch into claws for slashing hits, plus its twisting follow-up Biting Twist, both rooted in the Divine Dogs. Her trump card is the ever-adapting shikigami Mahoraga, armed with the Sword of Extermination, which she unleashed on Dabura Karaba before slipping into its shadow. Summoning Mahoraga cost her a binding vow that swapped her life for a sizable surge in cursed energy and technique.
