Nanami and Yuji nearly finish Mahito, but cornering the curse drives it to unfurl its first Domain Expansion with Nanami caught inside, forcing a last-ditch rescue and a hard reckoning with what it means to guide people toward a proper death.
Working as a unit, Nanami and Yuji learn that Mahito stores cursed energy in the instant before each shapeshift, which lets them time their strikes and overwhelm him. Driven to the edge of death, the curse draws inspiration from the pressure and reaches closer to his true form, expanding his Domain, Self-Embodiment of Perfection, and dragging Nanami inside while Yuji is shut out. The Domain places Nanami literally within the palm of Mahito's hand, a setup that should guarantee the curse a kill.
Nanami reflects on the bakery girl whose curse he once exorcised, an act that returned him to sorcery after a hollow stint as a salaryman, and he tells Mahito he needs no thanks and carries no regrets. As he prepares to die, Yuji breaches the Domain from outside, exploiting the fact that a barrier strong against its interior is brittle from without. The intrusion forces Mahito to brush against Sukuna's soul, and the King of Curses cuts him down for it. Bleeding badly, Mahito fakes a strike and slips into the sewers, where Nanami orders Ino to pursue, though Yuji finally collapses from his wounds.
Mahito retreats and dwells on Sukuna's overwhelming presence and the coming age of curses, settling on a plan to kill Yuji's soul over and over. Recovering in a morgue, Yuji confesses guilt over the deaths and his uncertainty about helping people die properly. Nanami tells him no two deaths are alike and that guiding anyone toward a clean end is impossible, asking only that Yuji survive while trying, and acknowledging him as a true sorcerer. At Satozakura, the staff vows to root out bullies. Yuji resolves never to lose again until Mahito is dead.
Nanami and Yuji learn to exploit Mahito's pre-transformation energy buildup. Mahito activates Self-Embodiment of Perfection for the first time, trapping Nanami. Yuji breaks into the Domain from outside, forcing Mahito to touch Sukuna's soul, and Sukuna wounds the curse. Mahito escapes into the sewers and resolves to torment Yuji's soul repeatedly. Nanami affirms Yuji's responsibility to stay alive and keep saving others.
The episode covers the back half of Chapter 29 through Chapter 31 and is the first to feature an insert song. A Juju Stroll short has the second-years and first-years sharing hotpot, with Megumi crediting Yuji for teaching him to make the meatballs, prompting a quiet moment since the group still believes Yuji is dead, while elsewhere Yuji sneezes over the same dish with Gojo.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....
