The thirty-eighth episode runs on two fronts. Mei Mei and Ui Ui outwit a special grade disease curse, while Nanami links up with the Zenin pair and meets an aquatic spirit whose fury reshapes it into something deadlier.
Caught within the domain cast by the Smallpox Deity, Mei Mei keeps bursting free of its coffins and works out the mechanism: the mark is boxed, crushed under a gravestone, then handed a three-count before infection finishes them. Worried the gravestone might wreck her ahead of her looming fight with Pseudo-Geto, she tests an idea by flooding a trapped crow with cursed energy. The curse instantly singles it out and kills it, confirming it stalks whatever signature burns brightest.
She flips this against the curse, using Ui Ui's released energy as bait even though the gravestone could kill him. He accepts eagerly, which she later reveals was her coded go-ahead for him to wield jujutsu. As the curse starts its lethal chant, Mei Mei lops off its hands, and Ui Ui guards himself within the coffin via Simple Domain. When the healed curse materializes at her back, her last crow drives through and exorcises it with Bird Strike, a binding-vow technique that makes a crow die past its own limits, a blow only Gojo has ever lived through.
On the deeper station floors, Nanami, Naobito, and Maki move to take on the octopus-shaped Dagon. Naobito snares the curse in a projection frame and lands a crushing punch, the force of which makes Dagon vomit the bones of those it devoured. Learning Hanami is dead, Dagon explodes with rage and sheds its cursed-womb shell for a vastly bigger, muscle-bound body, drowning the area in water. Naobito guards himself with his Projection Sorcery frames while ranting about animation frame rates, and the sorcerers press the curse with combined speed and strikes.
Backed up, the curse opens its own domain, Horizon of the Captivating Skandha, dumping all three onto a coast where piranha shikigami land guaranteed hits. Naobito parries with Falling Blossom Emotion, but Dagon turns loose Death Swarm, an endless flood of shikigami that swamps Naobito and pins Maki. Right as Dagon mocks Maki's strength, liquid shadow blasts upward like a geyser out of the sea. Megumi surfaces, passes Maki the Playful Cloud, and answers the curse's domain by unfurling his own Chimera Shadow Garden, voiding the guaranteed hit. The group rallies, Naobito rips off Dagon's arm, and Megumi admits he is carving an escape hatch rather than waging a domain war. As they ready their exit, Toji Fushiguro abruptly drops in through the breach.
The entry adapts chapters spanning both the Smallpox Deity and Dagon fights and holds the series record for most manga content adapted, at ninety-two pages. Mei Mei's ability is named Black Bird Manipulation, with Bird Strike serving as its extension. A range of anime changes stretch out the Dagon battle, add a shark shikigami to showcase Falling Blossom Emotion, and lay out Naobito's Projection Sorcery through narration well ahead of where the manga explains it.

The transformation everyone knows, the follow-up question nobody would touch. Why we made a smooth R&B track about the golden glow Dragon Ball never talks about....

Five Bleach female characters, ranked and settled. Yoruichi sits at number five, the spot nobody expects, and our number one is an Arrancar with a soft heart....
