Summary

Megumi finds himself circled by the seanced Toji, whose blinding speed without any cursed energy reminds him of a stronger Maki. With Toge having cleared the street of civilians, Megumi tries to summon Divine Dog: Totality, but Toji's presence rattles him into casting Rabbit Escape instead. Toji shatters the swarm with terrifying ease, stomping the ground hard enough to launch the rabbits skyward, then flicking debris through them with his fingers to destroy them all. Megumi escapes through warehouses, streets, and rooftops, dodging thrown trucks and manhole covers, before luring Toji into an office and electrocuting a sprinkler-flooded room with Nue.

Driven into an alley where Toji's options are limited, Megumi traps his foot in a shadow at the moment of his lunge, throwing off his balance. Toji recalls negotiating with Naobito long ago to sell Megumi to the Zenin family, believing the boy had potential, and remembers his late wife's request to look after him. He asks Megumi his name, and on hearing Fushiguro rather than Zenin, Toji stabs himself in the head to free his son, his vessel collapsing into Ogami's grandson's face. Megumi, wounded and confused, is then slashed from behind by a gleeful Shigemo.

Key Events

Sukuna and Jogo clash across the skyline in an escalating firefight. Sukuna slices Jogo's arms apart, hurls him through buildings, and shrugs off magma waves, Ember Insects, and concentrated fire beams. Jogo, told by Pseudo-Geto that his strength rivals a Sukuna with eight or nine fingers, forms giant magma hands to crush Sukuna with skyscrapers, but Sukuna cuts straight through them. He repeatedly batters Jogo, mocking the curse's helplessness as the city burns. Elsewhere, Kusakabe deliberately stalls a group of curse users led by Manami Suda and Toshihisa Negi, having no wish to die fighting the people who sealed Gojo.

Jogo gathers a destroyed building into a gravity-pulling Maximum: Meteor and drops it on Sukuna, who freezes everyone nearby under threat of death until the impact lands, then reveals he sat behind Jogo unharmed. When Sukuna asks why Jogo won't use his domain, the curse admits he would lose the struggle. Sukuna stands, opens his fire technique, and challenges Jogo to a duel of flames. In a final fantasy reuniting with Hanami and Dagon, Jogo declares curses the true humans. Sukuna burns him away but tells him to stand proud as a strong opponent, moving the curse to tears. Sukuna then turns to find Uraume, whom he recognizes.

Notes

The episode adapts chapters covering the Megumi versus Toji and Sukuna versus Jogo battles. A flashback shows Geto's former commanders splitting over whether to aid or kill the imposter, with Larue reminding them they remain family. Shoko Ieiri is revealed to be stationed and guarded by Yaga, her Reverse Cursed Technique having already saved Ijichi and Ino. Both major fights are greatly extended in the anime, with new locations for the Megumi chase and added details for Jogo's gravity-laden meteor.
