The longer his clash with Reggie runs, the fewer choices Megumi has. Down to what may be a single play, he commits everything to the strength of his Domain Expansion.

Key Events

Once Chimera Shadow Garden seals Reggie within Megumi's shadow, Reggie answers with the anti-domain method Hollow Wicker Basket, an older relative of Simple Domain built to turn aside an assured strike. He feels protected right up until four toads surface from the liquid dark and coil their tongues around both of his legs, leaving him puzzled that anything reached him; what he misses is that Megumi's domain remains unfinished. The narration recalls Shibuya, where Jogo and Hanami applied Domain Amplification on Gojo and, by withholding a sure hit, opened the door for his Limitless to flow in and cancel everything. Neither Simple Domain nor its forerunner can disable a cursed technique head-on; both merely dismantle the barrier so its certain hit is voided. Since Megumi pressed the gymnasium itself into a domain, his version carries no certain hit and only lifts the Ten Shadows Technique to 120 percent, which is why the counter does nothing.

Caught off guard by that imperfection, Reggie loses his grin, and Megumi mocks that the snickering has stopped. Two shadow clones spring up before Reggie can finish his rant, the toad tongues holding him still through the entire flurry. He severs the tongues with summoned combat knives, readies a machete, and tries to push back, but one clone rises from his shadow, seizes his leg, and flings him toward the real Megumi, who is already swinging his sword. Reggie parries the cursed tool with his machete, yet the other clone cracks him across the face mid-exchange.

Notes

Battered, Reggie deduces the clones and shikigami took physical form before striking, confirming the domain has no certain hit, and he calls the upgraded technique worse than a lethal version. Dreading a Max Elephant water finish, he activates his power and scatters receipts above himself; Megumi fails to wreck them with Nue before Contractual Re-Creation fires. Three cars spawn and drop into the shadow floor, and Reggie, noting Megumi keeps only one cursed tool, reasons the boy must carry the mass of whatever sits in his shadow. Now bearing about 2.4 tons, Megumi loses his clones and is locked into a hunch, immobile, while Reggie plans to keep stacking weight until he breaks. Megumi answers that Reggie has overlooked one thing: even when a domain is not yet whole it remains a domain, and shadow surrounds them on all sides, the space overhead included. From the darkness above his foe he calls down Max Elephant, dropping the huge shikigami onto Reggie, then asks which of the two of them gets flattened first. The installment sits within the Culling Game Arc and aligns with anime Episode 58.
