Part 3 of the Shinjuku showdown follows the sorcerers watching from outside as Gojo and Sukuna at last open their domains. The simultaneous expansion of Unlimited Void and Malevolent Shrine ends in a result no spectator predicted.
While the duel of the two strongest levels Shinjuku, Gojo's comrades observe from a distance and argue over how it might end. None of them, though, foresee what happens once both men finally bring their domains into contact.
Crowded around a pillar fitted with screens and audio gear, the sorcerers linked to Jujutsu High follow the duel through a feed that Mei Mei is broadcasting. Their early read of the fight centers on Sukuna leaning on domain amplification to nullify Gojo's Infinity, and the Angel reasons that any second route past Infinity would tip the win to Sukuna. Puzzled that neither has opened a domain, the group speculates on what a domain collision would produce, which leads Choso to disclose that Sukuna can deploy his without sealing the surrounding barrier. The claim stuns the others as something that ought to be impossible, and Kusakabe drives the point home by likening it to cupping water with no container or painting where no canvas exists.
Choso recalls that Kenjaku pulled off the same trick while battling Yuki Tsukumo, and Mei Mei figures Yuki would have done better opening her domain than leaning on a simple domain. Ino remarks on how breezily the others treat the subject and wonders aloud whether opening a domain over and over might exhaust Gojo, but Yuta and Inumaki insist his efficiency makes that impossible. Kashimo, irritated by Sukuna's near-divine knack for flipping between amplification and his innate technique, argues only the Six Eyes keeps him from outdoing Gojo on efficiency. Yuta points out that Sukuna carries roughly double his own reserves, so neither has held back a domain for lack of energy. When Higuruma signals the clash is starting, both men expand at the same instant. Equally polished, Unlimited Void and Malevolent Shrine overlap their certain-hit zones inside Gojo's barrier, where neither effect triggers until a fighter drops his domain. The Shrine's reach stretches past the barrier's edge, however, so Sukuna shreds it from outside; the shell collapses under the slashes and his technique opens Gojo's throat.
Running nineteen pages, this installment appeared in issue 27 of 2023 on June 12, belongs to the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, and was gathered into Volume 25 with a large roster of Jujutsu High sorcerers featured on its cover. It stages the very first joint deployment of Unlimited Void and Malevolent Shrine and establishes that the Shrine's outer range can crack a sealed domain from beyond its walls.
