Key Events

Chasing Sukuna across the open sky while the wheel keeps turning, Gojo has only two more spins of grace before it adapts to Infinity, and a worried Yuji and Kusakabe wish he would move faster. Sukuna ducks between the support pillars beneath a bridge on the battlefield, with Gojo right behind him holding two spheres of Blue. Gojo throws the orbs and shatters the supports, which Sukuna avoids, then rings him with eight more spheres and converges them all at once. Once more Sukuna evades, yet Gojo slips around to his back while he is defending, the two trade blows, and Gojo kicks him back into a Blue strike from behind that injures his lower abdomen; even so he stays smug as the wheel spins once more, leaving a single rotation before it adapts to Infinity. Yuji asks whether adaptation hinges on time or on accumulated experience, and after a beat Kusakabe grasps that he means whether Mahoraga adjusts a while after being struck or gradually through repeated exposure; Kashimo cuts in and bluntly says either could be true.

Hurling Sukuna into a nearby structure, Gojo resolves to stack on the pressure. Having made a point of using nothing but Blue, he is sure Sukuna cannot react well to a change of timing, so he steps behind a pillar and blows through it with Red to strike Sukuna. Sukuna manages to trigger domain amplification in time to soften and limit the damage; while amplification can void Infinity, it cannot fully cancel either Blue or Red, so the hit still wounds him. Higuruma and Yuji fear Gojo misjudged the moment and that Sukuna may now adapt. Arrogant, Sukuna mocks Gojo for rushing and asks whether being read has cost him his composure, and Gojo answers by pointing out that his earlier Red shot has yet to detonate, which stuns Sukuna. Right then, Red erupts into his back, having used the building's shape to curve around and flank him, a realization that comes too late. Gojo instantly seizes the opening and drives home a tremendous Black Flash, and the blow leaves the King of Curses senseless. The stunning Black Flash leaves every onlooker awestruck, and Yuji is quick to call it by name. Sukuna is left standing yet incapacitated, and Mahoraga's wheel slips from his head, but the moment it touches the ground it begins turning, the official sign that the shikigami has now adjusted to Infinity. As Mahoraga surfaces yet again, Gojo is hauled downward into the shadow beneath Sukuna, and both Yuji and Yuta shout for their teacher while he tumbles into the creature's grasp and takes a Sword of Extermination slash across one shoulder.
