On the sidelines, Gojo's comrades clash over whether anyone should join the fight. Even as he keeps giving ground to Sukuna and the pair of shikigami, Gojo still holds one card in reserve, the Limitless technique known as the Unlimited Hollow, or Purple.

Yuta rises to aid his teacher, but a crackling Kashimo orders him to sit, insisting he has no standing to interfere and is not even up next. Hakari backs Kashimo, recalling that Gojo forbade interference unless he weakened enough for one of them to take over. Yuta contends the situation is exceptional since Sukuna cannot open a domain, and that he and Rika could draw the shikigami off. Maki volunteers in his place; Mei Mei lays out the lopsided win conditions; Kusakabe and Hakari note Sukuna is surely concealing a trump card and that Uraume still waits. The group concludes Gojo unleashing everything alone maximizes their odds.

Hounded by Mahoraga and Agito, Gojo slips a grab from Agito and caves in its midsection with Black Flash. Once Agito mends itself, it strikes using Great Serpent for a tail; Gojo dodges the bite and tears the serpent's head free. Knowing Round Deer's regeneration forces a one-shot kill, he prioritizes Agito so it cannot mend Sukuna. Sensing Mahoraga underperform, Sukuna commands it to bare its full strength, and the wheel on its crown begins to turn. A long-range flying slash from that blade severs Gojo's right arm entirely, alarming Yuji and Kusakabe while Shoko frets over his weakened healing. Both shikigami and Sukuna pile on, a kick sending Gojo toward Agito, but he reinstates Infinity in time and halts the rush. Forming a Blue sphere around his lone fist, Gojo drives it into Agito's belly, collapses the beast at maximum output, and sends the field of attraction toward Sukuna. Mahoraga hauls Sukuna clear as Blue rips through Shinjuku and finishes Agito. Gojo's arm begins regrowing, and the narration counts down forty-one more seconds before Hollow Purple will again carve apart Makyo Shinjuku.

Within Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen, this stands as installment two hundred thirty-four, set during the Shinjuku Showdown Arc. Weekly Shonen Jump carried it in issue 40 of 2023, dated September 4, and it later joined Volume 26, spanning nineteen pages. Much of the chapter dwells on the strategic debate among Gojo's allies, framing his solo stand as a calculated bet rather than abandonment.
