Sukuna is laid to rest at last, Megumi walks free, and the surviving sorcerers can breathe again. Even so, Gojo's parting letters and a fresh crisis make clear the work is far from finished for the jujutsu sorcerers.
The reign of the King of Curses comes to an end. With Sukuna gone, Uraume yields and Megumi rejoins his friends. The win lands heavy with both relief and grief, and new troubles already await the sorcerers on the far side of their triumph.
Within Megumi's mind, Sukuna scolds him for old wrongs and presses him to hand over his body, yet Megumi sees past the pressure to the curse's terror of dying, grasping that the resonance among the fingers would wipe out Sukuna's soul the instant Yuji pried him loose. Megumi decides to keep living, this time for another person's sake. When the barrier on Yuji's domain breaks, he punches Megumi's body free of Sukuna, whose rotting remains clutch at him and miss. Kneeling, Yuji tells Sukuna the two of them are one and the same, that all people are born carrying curses and only luck decides who turns into a monster, and he offers the curse a chance to live beside him rather than as a curse. Sukuna refuses, uttering Yuji's name a single time before crumbling to nothing. Far off, Uraume feels Sukuna's death, admits the sorcerers triumphed only through luck and Sukuna's incarnated frailty, and is beheaded by their own thawing ice after Hakari's remark. Later, Megumi reunites with Yuji and Nobara, and Yuji passes out letters from Gojo relayed through Shoko. Nobara crumples hers about her mother, while Megumi laughs at his, in which Gojo offhandedly confesses to killing his father Toji. The group then sets off, Yuji explaining that everyone must assemble to save Yuta.
Numbered 268 in the run, this chapter was gathered into Volume 30 within the Shinjuku Showdown Arc, carrying the Japanese title Ketchaku. It brings both the war against Sukuna and Hakari's bout with Uraume to a close. The final scene at Tokyo Jujutsu High plants the next thread, as the sorcerers discover that someone is cursing Yuta's name.
