Summary

Juzo turns Gakuganji's sound-based cursed energy aside with his axe, working out that the old man's technique amplifies the music he performs before unleashing it. Confident his own ability pins him as a foreseeable mid-range fighter, Juzo holds his ground. Elsewhere Utahime pushes toward the battlefield and phones Momo, who has reached Shoko along with Miwa and the rest, the curtain still leaving signal intact. Mid-call, Utahime is ambushed by a curse user armed with a hand-sword; Nobara and Mai rush in to support her just as the curtain drops, forcing the attacker to flee while everyone notices Gojo high above.

Key Events

Scanning the whole field from on high, Gojo spots Yuji and is taken aback by how much stronger he has become, deciding that he and Aoi can manage on their own for now. He instead descends on Juzo, and when Gakuganji shouts not to kill the curse user, Gojo merely destroys all of Juzo's limbs, leaving him immobilized for later interrogation. Aware the fleeing attacker and Hanami will both try to escape, Gojo opts to go overboard, simultaneously firing the Limitless techniques Reversal: Red and the reinforced Technique: Blue.

Notes

Hanami declines to face Gojo and tries to withdraw; Yuji moves to chase but Aoi stops him to keep his friend out of the blast radius. Gojo releases Hollow Technique: Purple, a space-warping detonation that carves out most of the forest in a fissure so vast Aoi cannot even confirm whether the spirit was exorcised. Meanwhile Mahito emerges from a campus vault having seized the targeted cursed objects, killing two staff members on his way out and declaring the mission accomplished. The chapter introduces Haruta Shigemo, belongs to the Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc, and adapts into Episode 20.
