Appearance

Compact and modestly built, Shigemo was a young man whose blonde hair was slicked back and gathered into a ponytail tied off to his head's left side. Lilac marks tied to his cursed technique sat beneath each of his purple eyes, set off by thin brows, and his front teeth were knocked out by Kento Nanami during their fight.

His attire centered on a black one-piece set of overalls that wrapped his lower body, stomach, and the left side of his chest, finished with brown shoes. He kept his trademark weapon slung over a shoulder.

Personality

Cruelty and self-interest drove Shigemo, who placed his own survival and amusement above everything else. Sharp enough by nature, he nonetheless chose to behave childishly, and he openly confessed to cowardice, gravitating toward feeble targets while avoiding anyone who could fight back. He saw himself as best suited to picking off the helpless or delivering finishing blows, and Juzo Kumiya bluntly called him unreliable on his own, handing him a sword that literally grips his hand for him. Reluctant to act without orders from figures like Uraume, he bolted at the first hint of danger. He murdered with gleeful relish, joked through grim moments, and delighted in the chance to kill, telling Nobara mid-fight that the reason behind his actions hardly mattered so long as he was enjoying himself.

Abilities

For all his admitted cowardice, Shigemo was a reasonably capable sorcerer whom Uraume recruited to further Kenjaku's plan to seal Satoru Gojo. He slaughtered non-combatants such as assistant managers with ease and briefly outmatched Nobara while simultaneously chasing down Nitta, slipping her strikes and landing clean blows that caught her off guard with both his cunning and his accuracy. Against a true grade 1, however, his strength evaporated: Nanami pummeled him without taking a scratch, and only his luck-based technique let him survive that beating and other deadly scrapes. Largely ignorant of how his own ability functions, he relied on his cursed tool and crude swordplay to slash and stab opponents who could scarcely defend, even hurling the blade because he knew it could act independently. True to form, he struck an already wounded Megumi from behind.

His innate technique, Miracles, erases small everyday coincidences, like a clock showing identical digits, from his life along with the memories of them, banking each as a mark beneath his eyes. When his life is threatened, these stored miracles release to bend his luck and ensure he survives otherwise fatal blows, and a spent mark turns white. For equipment he wielded a Hand Sword, a single-edged katana-like blade attached to a handle shaped like a human hand and crafted for him by Juzo Kumiya. He clasped palms with the strange grip to fight, and the sword could crawl on its fingers, form a fist to launch as a projectile, and somehow let Shigemo sense people near it even beyond his own line of sight.
