Chapter 82

Caught within Mahito's domain, the one he calls his Self-Embodiment of Perfection, Kokichi looks to have lost everything in a heartbeat. He pulls through, though, turning the fight around with the New Shadow Style art of Simple Domain. As the festival night ends, the day so long promised in Shibuya at last comes.

Within the domain, Idle Transfiguration connects automatically, and Mode: Absolute buckles, seeming to confirm the pilot's death. Sure of his certain win, the spirit turns away and remarks that the sorcerer trusted one plan too much, adding that ten days remain before the thirty-first for him to refill his energy. Then the puppet stands and rams its spiked finger up through Mahito's back, raising him into the air as he turns a baffled face toward it. From inside the cockpit, Kokichi recalls having anticipated all of it. His technique tubes hold Simple Domain, a shield for the weak created in the Heian Era to guard a sorcerer's followers; of four, the first misfired, the second sealed the cockpit, and the third looks to finish the spirit.

Pseudo-Geto praises the deployment of Simple Domain as Kokichi swings his weapons his way, meaning to burn his last nine years ending the imposter too. But a swollen fist from Mahito tears the driver's compartment apart, and the appalled pilot finds himself locking eyes with the spirit's warped grin. Snatching his final tube, Kokichi drives forward to stab Mahito, who slithers into the cockpit as a grotesque millipede, and their hands cross in the same breath. Recalling Kasumi Miwa's vow to come visit him one day, Kokichi falls as Mechamaru collapses for good, blood seeping from the puppet's massive head. Leaving together afterward, Mahito tells Geto he was happy to see Simple Domain before the main event, and Geto confirms the curse users have finished tuning the Commissioned Curtains. Ten days on, the calendar turns to October 31, 2018, in Shibuya.

Belonging to the Shibuya Incident Arc, this chapter ran in issue 49 of 2019 and was adapted into Episode 31. Kasumi Miwa features in flashback, and Shibuya makes a cameo. The chapter wraps the Kokichi Muta versus Mahito battle while spotlighting Simple Domain, Mahito's Domain Expansion, and Idle Transfiguration.
