Chapter 88 of Jujutsu Kaisen follows a panicked Jogo trying to stall Satoru Gojo after Hanami's death, with little help from Choso. As the Mei Mei Team learns a train of transfigured humans is bound for Gojo, Mahito arrives to greet his ally.
With Hanami gone, Jogo scrambles to buy more time while Choso offers almost nothing in support. The situation remains far too easy for Satoru Gojo. At the same time, the Mei Mei Team discovers a train rolling toward Shibuya carrying a grim surprise meant just for the strongest sorcerer.
Gasping for breath as he flees the strongest sorcerer, Jogo stumbles through the packed Fukutoshin platform with Gojo trailing close behind, radiating a dark menace. Choso hides among the civilians while his ally panics. Jogo shoves people into Gojo's path and tries striking from behind, but the Infinity freezes both the human and his fist in mid-motion. Refusing to let Hanami's death mean nothing, Jogo plans hit-and-run attacks using Domain Amplification and shouts for Choso to act before he dies; Choso fires three blood arrows from down the platform, which the Infinity halts, and Gojo notes his position but ignores him, judging his range nearly exhausted.
As non-sorcerers who cannot perceive curses begin clearing away from Gojo, their thinning numbers threaten to expose Jogo. Gojo reflects that he has already shown both deactivating and reinforcing the Limitless, and worries about another large-scale assault, vowing to exorcise the curses and avenge those he cannot save. Believing twenty minutes have passed, Jogo grows anxious while Pseudo-Geto, waiting with Dagon, says they must rattle Gojo further before moving. On the fourth floor of Meiji-Jingumae Station, the Mei Mei Team reunites and heads down; Mei Mei praises Yuji as grade 1 caliber and the first since Atsuya Kusakabe she has met to be so skilled without an innate technique, though Yuji notes it was not Mahito he fought. Reaching the fifth floor, they find a dying transfigured man who reveals everyone is on the train. Yuji realizes it is bound for Gojo. At Hikarie ShinQ's, the arriving train spills transfigured humans that attack at once, and Mahito leaps out to greet Jogo, who breaks the news that Hanami is dead.
