Half a year has passed since Gohan was left in the wilderness, and the change in the boy is remarkable. No longer the frightened child who cried at every turn, Gohan has become a capable survivor, hunting his own food and navigating dangerous terrain with confidence. Piccolo, having watched from a distance this entire time, decides the boy is finally ready for direct combat training and begins sparring with him personally.
